The Ultimate Guide To Your First Head Spa Experience
Receiving a head spa is a deeply relaxing and uplifting experience, but if it's your first time, you might be unsure about what to expect.
And I don’t know about you .. but when I know what to expect, I feel at ease and can better connect with the experience and hopefully really unwind. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you prepare and make the most out of your head spa visit.
Pre-Visit Preparation
Jewelry and Makeup: It's best to come with minimal/no jewelry and makeup. However, if you're coming straight from work or an event, don't worry - we have solutions to accommodate various needs. If you have permanent jewelry, we will work around it. And we have warm cloths and oil for makeup removal, as needed. Please ask for the supplies, if required.
What to Wear
Your comfort is top priority when visiting Halo Headspa. You can choose to stay in your breathable clothing (yoga style or comfy clothing is best) or change into one of our soft half-body coverups, available in sizes up to XXL. If you prefer, you can wear as much or as little as you like under the blankets. One added touch, a bed warmer will keep you cozy throughout the session. It is important to note, that any clothing worn on the upper body during your head spa is subject to getting wet and/or products on the material, as we connect with this region of the body. Areas of the body we connect with: scalp, head, ears, neck, forearms, and hands. Some folks choose to remain completely clothed on top of the blankets, truly whatever feels best to you, and we will always make the experience meet your preferences.
Timing Your Visit Around Hair Treatments
If you've recently had a color or chemical treatment, wait at least a week before your head spa session. Alternatively, you can schedule your spa visit a week before your next chemical, hair treatment. It's perfectly fine to have a head spa on the same day as a haircut, just be sure it's post-haircut.
After Your Head Spa
Avoid Harsh Products
For the first 24 to 48 hours following your head spa, steer clear of using heavy or harsh products like aerosols, oils, mousse, and masques. These can weigh down your hair and potentially counteract the treatment's benefits.
Stay Hydrated
Hydration is crucial for both your hair and scalp health. Make sure to drink plenty of water in the days following your treatment. This will help keep your scalp moisturized and support the natural healing process.
Embrace Different Forms of Rest
Rest is vital for recovery and rejuvenation. Consider exploring various forms of rest, whether it's taking a nap, meditating, or simply relaxing in a quiet environment. This helps your body and mind recharge, complementing the calming effects of your head spa.
Gentle Hair Care
Opt for gentle brushing and hairstyles that don't put too much tension on your scalp. Loose-tension styles and keeping your hands off your hair will help maintain the treatment's effects and prevent unnecessary strain on your scalp.
Following these aftercare tips can significantly enhance and prolong the benefits of your head spa, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized.
I hope this guide helps you rest easy in knowing a relaxing and beneficial head spa experience is ahead. I look forward to welcoming you and helping you unwind!
